Robert Lach

Robert Lach (d. 2 August 2024)

We are posthumously inducting Mr Robert Lach into the team. He was one of the initiators of this project at the Lubuskie Space Technology Park, laying the groundwork for its implementation from the very first days of the PTK’s operation. Sadly, right at the start of the project, following a brief stay in a hospital in Zielona Góra, Robert Lach passed away on 2 August 2024 at the age of 62.

A man of broad horizons, committed to the development of modern technologies in the fields of geoinformation, spatial planning and Earth observation techniques. He was among the pioneers promoting the use of geoinformation and digital technologies in the management of cities and regions, having established or actively participated in numerous geoinformation projects throughout Poland since the early 1990s.

Right up until the final months of his life, he looked to the future with optimism and was involved in new projects. At the Space Technology Park, he helped establish the (former) Centre for Satellite Data Processing and Interpretation and Civil Satellite Navigation Systems, now the Geoinformatics Laboratory at PTK.
