Project launch
We are pleased to announce that the Space Technology R&D&I Park (Zielona Góra), in collaboration with the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography (Warsaw), has launched the project ‘Enhanced Multi-Source Information for Natural Capital Assessment and Monitoring’ (EO-BALP-CCN1), carried out in collaboration with Baltic Satellite Services Latvia and co-funded by the European Space Agency.
The project team will propose and present indicators relating to selected ecosystem services for the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The analyses will be based on multi-source geospatial data, with a strong emphasis on data derived from remote sensing (Earth Observation, EO) conducted from satellites.
Five thematic areas will be considered, drawn from the three main types of ecosystem services. The landscape context is also a key consideration in the project. The results of the ecosystem services analysis will be related to the landscape units identified during the landscape audit process
As part of the project work, extensive consultations with the users of the final products are planned. Thematic seminars, meetings with end-users and a conference to summarise the project’s findings are scheduled.
We will be posting updates on the project on this website.
